Home against Fullerians

Match-1

Harpenden 17
v
Fullerians 7

Harpenden Colts 17 - 7 Fullerians Colts - Colts West League

A very competitive Fullers side came up against a determined Harp Colts outfit in the latest Herts/Middlesex Colts West League match and moves Harp up to third in the league. Harp ran out winners by three tries to one with the game in doubt until late in the second half.  The forwards were evenly matched with Harp shading the loose ball but there nothing in the set piece.  Behind the scrum things were different with Harp dangerous backs a constant threat whenever the ball was ball was spread wide.

7 - 7 all at half time with a strong wind behind Fullers in the first half and one converted try a piece.  Further tries by Musket & Stagg plus a conversion from Tom Stagg completed the scoring.  A strong forward effort led by Wilkinson, Riccarty. Kelliher and the outstanding Reeder made life difficult for the Fullers forwards.  If there was a disappointment it was that Harp did not score more tries and credit must go to Fullers courageous tackling.

Harp Colts can look forward to the remainder of the season in good heart after this high quality win.  The second round of the County Cup in a few weeks time will see Harp up against Fullers again.
